Dear Alastair: a collection of correspondence.

In July 2022 Room & Book acquired over 5000 items comprising the library and archive of the late British art historian, Dr Alastair Grieve (1940-2022). Over 100 items from Dr Grieve’s professional correspondence dating from 1976 have now been made available. The collection includes letters, notes, cards and invitations relating to British and international modern art, as well as Victorian art - including a large archive of material from the William Morris Society. Correspondents and subjects include Robert Adams, Gillian Ayres, Joost Baljeu, Charles Biederman, George Dannat, Trevor Dannat, Natalie Dower, Malcolm Hughes, Michael Kidner, Denys Lasdun, Mary Lutyens, Dennis Mitchell, Outsider Art, Eduardo Paolozzi, Victor Pasmore, Professor Toshiyuki Takamiya, Peter Lowe, Susan Tebby, and Gillian Wise among others.
