Room and Book is an online art bookshop run from a small upstairs flat at Strand-on-the-Green on the River Thames in West London. Room & Book stocks second-hand art books, design and architecture books, exhibition catalogues and ephemera with a focus on material from 1920 to 1980. Emphasis is given to books, exhibition catalogues and important periodicals relating to modern British art and international modernism, particularly sculpture.

The current exhibition, select material from the Archive of Peter Townsend, the renowned editor, writer and sinologist, is now online here

We currently have books available covering the Pre-Raphaelites, the British Arts and Crafts movement, modern British craft and studio ceramics, Surrealism, DADA, Constructivism, Vorticism, The Independent Group, as well as books relating to international architecture, graphic design and the history of typography.
