Room and Book is an online second-hand art bookshop run by Australian-born bookseller Rob Maconachie from a small upstairs flat at Strand-on-the-Green on the River Thames in West London. Room & Book stocks second-hand art, architecture, design, and small press books, as well as important periodicals, exhibition catalogues and ephemera, with a broad focus on material from 1890 to 1980. Emphasis is given to modern British material and International modernism, particularly sculpture.

We currently have books available covering the Pre-Raphaelites, the British Arts and Crafts movement, modern British craft and studio ceramics, Surrealism, DADA, Constructivism, Vorticism, The Independent Group, as well as books relating to international architecture, graphic design and the history of typography. We buy individual books and exhibition catalogues as well as larger collections related to Modern British art and international modernism. Please get in touch here
