Rare and important issue of Audio Arts Magazine published to coincide with Audio Arts at the Tate Gallery, August and September 1982.

Three audio cassettes accompanied by a twelve page printed booklet titled, 'Live to Air: Artists Sound Works', Audio Arts Magazine, Vol 5, Nos 3&4’. Housed in cardboard box with title label.

Includes contributions from: Vito Acconci, Yura Adams, Jacki Apple, Art & Language, F. Uwe Laysiepen/Marina Abramovic, Connie Beckley, Ian Breakwell, Stuart Brisley, Hank Bull, John Carson, Helen Chadwick, David Cunningham, Barbara Hess, David Garland, Rose Garrard, Bob George, Jack Goldstein, Dan Graham, Roberta M. Graham, Adrian Hall, Julia Hayward, Charlie Hooker, Tina Keane, Richard Layzell, Les Levine, Bruce McLean, Tom Marioni, Ian Murray, Maurizio Nannucci, Gerald Newman, John Nixon/Anti Music, Hannah O'Shea, Clive Robertson, Dieter Roth, Arleen Schloss, Madelon Hooykaas/Elsa Stansfield, Rod Summers/VEC, Kerry Trengove, David Troostwyk, Peter Gordon /Lawrence Weiner, Steve Willats, Silvia C. Each artist was invited to produce 5 minutes of sound. The recordings are organised into four sections across three cassettes: A. Rock Idioms: works that use rock idioms and their associated structures. B. Images & Narrative: works that construct a narrative through the juxtaposition and collage of sounds and images. C. Technological Space and Audio: works that concern the audio space created by recording technology. D. Urban Reference: works focused on the relationship between the individual and the urban environment.

Also included is a copy of William Furlong, Audio Arts: Discourse and Practice in Contemporary Art, Wiley-Academy, 1994
