Catalogue of the group exhibition ‘The New Art’, Hayward gallery August 17 – September 24, 1972, acknowledged as the definitive exhibition of British conceptual art. It the first institutional survey of British conceptual art. The exhibition was curated by Anne Seymour who was assisted by Richard Hamilton, Adrian Heath, Joe Tilson and Nicholas Serota. The show presented work by British conceptual artists associated with Land Art and Arte Povera who had gained attention abroad, but who had rarely been exhibited in the UK.

Artists include Keith Arnatt, Art-Language, Victor Burgin, Michael Craig-Martin, David Dye, Barry Flanagan, Hamish Fulton, Gilbert & George, John Hilliard, Richard Long, Keith Milow, Gerald Newman, John Stezaker + David Tremlett. 4-6 pages devoted to each artist’s work plus a section of artist’s statements and interviews.
