An incomplete broken run of 33 issues of the scarce historically significant British studio pottery journal, Pottery Quarterly, launched in 1954 as the first dedicated magazine for the studio pottery world. The group spans issue 1 (1954) to issue 56 (c.1985). The magazine was edited by the potter Murray Fieldhouse who single-handedly produced each of the early issues. Each includes several articles by noted potters of the time including exhibition reviews, followed by a section of black and white plates at the back of the book. Contents and contributors include: James Tower, Michael Cardew, Shoji Hamada, Bernard Leach, Lucie Rie, Hans Coper, Rosemary Wren, Picasso, Sam Haile, Michael Casson, Ruth Duckworth, William Staite-Murray, Catherine Pleydell-Bouverie, Alan Caiger-Smith etc.
