John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 6, 23 November 1967 –  21 January 1968.  Number of exhibits: 106. David Hockney wins and uses the prize money to send his parents on holiday to Australia. Prizewinners/Purchase prizes: David Hockney 1st prize £1,500, Malcolm Hughes 2nd prize £1,000, Joe Tilson 3rd prize £750. Non-Purchase prizes 5 prizes of £100: Harry Ball, D. A. Cordery, Alan Gouk, Derek Southall, Richard Ward. 5 prizes of £50: Keith Brocklehurst, Douglas Kemp, Gordon Snee, Jean Spencer, Stephen Young. Jurors: John Moores (Chair), Adrian Heath, Norbert Lynton, Pierre Restany, Lilian Somerville.

John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 7, 26 November 1969—26 January 1970. Number of exhibits: 91. First prize awarded jointly to two separate artists, Mary Martin 'Cross' and Richard. Mary Martin dies suddenly at the same time the Jury are deliberating the awards. 5 prizes of £300: Rasheed Araeen, Peter Kinley, Robert Owen, Tom Phillips, David Troostwyk. Jurors: Hugh Scrutton, Robyn Denny, Anthony Hill, Howard Hodgkin, RB Kitaj, William Scott, Adrian Henri was unable to attend judging.

John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 8, 27 April — 2 July 1972. Number of exhibits: 80. The University of Liverpool purchases Euan Uglow's prizewinning painting for its art collection. Prizewinners: Euan Uglow 1st prize £3,000, 'Nude, 12 vertical positions from the eye’, Adrian Henri 2nd prize £2,000, Noel Forster 3rd prize £1,000. 5 prizes of £100: Rita Donagh, Stephen Collingbourne, Terry Setch, Sean Scully, Anthony Eyton.

John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 9, 13 June 1974 – 15 September 1974. Number of exhibits: 90. A fourth prize specially added for Sean Scully's 'Subtraction Painting’. The first prize winning painting, Myles Murphy's  'Figure against a Yellow Foreground' (oil on canvas, 152 x 245.3cm), is now in the Tate's collections. Prizewinners: Myles Murphy 1st prize £3,000, 'Figure against a Yellow Foreground’, John G Walker 2nd prize £2,000, Craigie Aitchison 3rd prize £1,000, Sean Scully 4th prize £500. 10 prizes of £100: Michael J Bennett, Stephen Buckley, Jeffery B Camp, Maurice Cockrill, Barrie Cook, Anthony Green, Peter Hedegaard, Richard Kidd, Alan Miller, Laetitia Yhap. Jurors: Timothy Stevens (Chair), Dore Ashton, Peter de Francia, J Kasmin.

Sir John Moores refers to the "unhappy events in Toxteth as well as to economic North West" in the catalogue preface. John Hoyland 1st prize (Purchase prize) £6,000, 'Broken Bride 13.6.82’. Gillian Ayres 2nd prize £3,000. Adrian Berg 3rd prize £2,000. 10 prizes of £250: Barrie Cook, Joan Dawson, Stephen Farthing, Albert Irvin, John Lessore, Michael Scott, Norman Stevens, Leon Vilaincour, Anthony Whishaw, Emrys Williams. Jurors: Sir John Moores (Chair), Stephen Buckley, Myles Murphy, William Packer, Joe Tilson, who was to have been one of the judges, was unable to take part.
