Mat Collishaw. Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw, 2000.

£5.00

Mat Collishaw made his debut in 1988 at the famous Freeze exhibition, which was a manifestation of the youngest generation of British artists, later known as Young British Artists. This group included, among others Damian Hirst, curator of the Freeze exhibition, Sara Lucas, Gary Hume, Fiona Rea, Anya Gallacio, Steven Pippin and Rachel Whiteread. It was they who significantly contributed to the extraordinary revival in British art of the 1990s, which resulted in two great exhibitions: Brilliant. New Art From London (Walker Art Centre, Minneapolis, 1995) and Sensations (Royal Academy of Art, London, 1997, New York 1999). (from the introduction by Ewa Gorządek Unfaithful Thomas about the soul of Narcissus).
