Feliks Topolski R.A. (1907–1989) Untitled
An original satirical drawing in ink and wash by Feliks Topolski R.A. from the collection of his friend, the artist Renzo Galeotti (1939-2024). The drawing depicts a Duke of Wellington type character waving his hat in the manner of Wellington at Waterloo – Wellington famously waved his hat to signal a general advance following the defeat of the French Imperial Guard. He is depicted as if mounted on a horse, but the horse is absent. A bemused and reluctant crowd look on from the shadows.
