£40.00

Broadsheet style catalogue published on the occasion of an exhibition dedicated to the artist Felik’s Topolski’s ‘Chronicles’, a fortnightly broadsheet based on Topolski’s own drawings and self-published by him over three decades.

Feliks Topolski was a Polish-born British artist who produced and self-published his fortnightly ‘Chronicles’ between 1953 and 1980. The Chronicle was printed by hand from Topolski’s own on the spot observational drawings. In total the series comprises approximately 2300 individual drawings. Some issues were in the form of booklets, others as broadsheet lithographs usually in editions of 100. The Chronicles present Topolski’s observation of the people, politics, and events of his time, beginning with the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Over 2,000 subscribers from across the world, including international museums, universities and libraries, received Topolski’s Chronicle during the three decades of its publication.
