Jonathan Barnbrook’s font foundry VirusFonts was set up in 1997 to release the fonts of the studio. The first catalogue featured a dense layering of type and image that explained the complex concepts behind the reasoning and drawing of the fonts. The design of the catalogue also features many of the philosophical undercurrents of the time such as the rise of religious cults and pre-millennial apocalyptic paranoia.
